Needs Assessments
We’ve Learned from Kansans
We began the work of All In For Kansas Kids in 2019 by developing a comprehensive needs assessment of the programs and services for early care and education across the state, which led to development of a statewide strategic plan in 2020. Since then, we’ve regularly conducted new research and analyzed the latest data from across the ecosystem to measure progress and inform next steps.
Methodology
Over 6,100 Kansans contributed to our initial needs assessment. During that process and as we completed updates in the years since, our methods ranged from collecting personal stories and online insights, to hosting hundreds of in-person community conversations with parents, caregivers, business leaders, elected officials, educators, health care providers, and a wide variety of early childhood professionals and champions.
