Purpose
A pilot project intended to test a process for linking records between one early childhood data source and the data system identified for use in the State Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) grant in execution by the Kansas State Department of Education. This pilot linkage will serve as proof-of-concept to establish 1) a matching protocol for data associated with unique identifiers already assigned to children in the eScholar system, and 2) a protocol for assigning a unique identifier from eScholar to a large dataset housed in another system.
To achieve this, two Data Trust members will collaborate and share Level III data from the system-of record for the Early Childhood Block Grant (ECBG) from 2014 to Present. The Data Trust members involved in this project are the Kansas State Department of Education and the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund.
